World Vision

Everytime I write a single word, the world goes out of focus until
the last stroke of my pen.
I am taken to another place;
a universe of my own creation.
A place where no wars are waged.
A place where cars travel together
along an endless road to a single
destination.
A place where the snow-capped,
distant mountains stand tall and
noble.
A place where there are no goodbyes.
A place where there is no death or
painful suffering.
A place where animals roam freely, as
human equals.
A place where all races and religions
are one with each other.
A place where tears are dried long before
they fall.
A place where one can live their wildest
dreams without fear of failure.
A place where beauty is found in every
living thing.
A place where happiness and tranquility
show on everyone's faces.
A place where people exist peacefully
together.
A place where the air is fresh and clean
and food is plentiful.
A place where exclusion is excluded.
A place where fairytales come to life.
A place where perfection is attainable.
A place where everyone has somewhere
safe and warm to stay for the night.
A place where daydreams are reality.
A place where the word no is foreign.
A place where one can be free.

It is the most beautiful place that
ever could be imagined.
I go there everytime I write a word.
And whenever I am there, I never
ever want to come back.

Happy Tears of Sadness

Happy to be leaving
Sad for not wanting to go
Goodbyes are full of pain
But so too is a hello

To be reuinted with my loved ones
A joy we all will share
The sorrow of a lover's final kiss
Hurts too much to be fair

Lingering farewells exchanged
So heavy remains my heart
Hovers in the atmosphere
As regretfully we part

Whenever will we meet again?
Could it be in a day or a year?
Our reunion a mystery unknown to us
As the certain time draws near

But someday in the future
We shall surely find each other
It will be just like the old times
Finding comfort in one another

Treasure our fondest memories
Keep in touch as much as we can
And someday, in the future near or distant
Our paths will cross again.

Prejudice.

People hurt for prejudice
Rage at the injustice
Effects of it obvious to the eye
Justice nowhere to be found.
Understanding of each other
Doesn't seem to be
In the lives of those excluded
Crying silently for
Everything they lost to racism.

Roses Are…

Roses are grey,
Violets are grey,
I'm colourblind
And I suck at poetry.

Courtesy of a Facebook like.

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue…

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Shut the hell up,
Or I will shoot you.

Silent Death

Strip me of my worth
until I am bare of all dignity
naked and bleeding
from unhealed scars,
exposing my shielded heart
to a storm of new pain.
Eating its way through a faith once lost,
washed away in winter's cold,
blinding and deafening silence,
enveloping and devouring all in its path
echoes,
slips away into eternal night
parting with its victim's corpse,
a broken, lifeless soul,
to exist forever in a daydream,
in a place of distant song.
Beyond the valley of empty questions,
above a lake of unshed tears,
where the fragment of her shattered heart,
the one she never noticed,
silently cries black tears,
wondering if he could have saved her.

No.

A three letter word that you might say
Could take my breath and my pain away
Could leave me floating on pure air
Hurt melting away alongside despair

We could dance and twirl up to the sun
Me and my love, my soul, the one
Drink in the beauty of your face
And bask in the tenderness of your embrace

Those were the silly dreams of mine
That truly stood the test of time
And only now have they been shattered
With everything that ever mattered

When people said you might say yes
I suppose it was nothing but a guess
Sometimes right but often wrong
I knew the truth of "no" all along...

Hitting The Fan.

One blade-
A single shard of
Broken heart escapes
the prison of my body.

Two blades-
Many hands make light work
Or so they say
Twice as many scars,
Twice as many tears,
Twice as much pain.

Three blades-
On high rotation, they're a death trap
Chilling and thought provoking
They see all, know all,
Can end all.

Ugly personality bled from the soul
Covering walls you lived between
Never truly to be removed.
A jump too high; forgetting to duck
A single mistake and you're gone.
A final breath; a single step and it all ends tonight…

The Silver String

Hearts dancing on the wind
Hoping to be caught
And tied to another with silver string
Like fairytales always taught.

Like a butterfly caught in your own two hands
You sit on clouds spun from your wildest dreams
You twirl in silly, careless circles
Towards the end which gleams

Like balloons they are let go
And float off into the air
The young owner would then cry
But no-one said it was fair.

You can tie the strings in the tightest knot
But the cord will always be severed
Regardless of the fancies you hear
You can't hold on forever.

Open Door

As I fall asleep at night
Thinking 'what will become of me?'
Of what I once could've been
A future I'll never see

If my life was different
If I'd taken another track
Where exactly would I be?
There's no point looking back.

Would I be a successful student?
Would I have this many friends?
Or would I have been worse off,
Stuck on all the road's bends

I guess the grass is always greener
Though you never know for sure
But you're always taking chances
When you walk through open doors...

Guardian Angel

In the silence of the night
A girl creeps slowly to the door
Creaks it open and tiptoes out
Across a cobblestone floor.

Onto the street and around the block
To a house that's still with sleep
A particular bedroom in this house
Into which she'll silently creep

Take the hand of a sleeping beauty
Her face pale in the soft moonlight
Deliver her to a safe haven
Hidden and out of sight

This is where the angels take
The closest of their friends
Like a guardian watching their treasure
And their impending, uncertain ends.

I know that this may make no sense
That's not how it's meant to be
It doesn't have specific meaning
To you, though it does to me.

More Than Friends

All is finally well and good
In a world I never understood
I don't know why or even how
But the world is so much clearer now

I might just have a chance with you
I really hope that this is true.
You're the one that saved me from loving him
The one I spoke to when things seemed grim.

You're funny, kind and understand;
I visit you in my dreamland.
You're the one out of anyone I've ever met
That I've felt most strongly about yet

I'd love to get to know you better
Even if it's only by a letter
That I, in the future, may someday send
Hoping we could become more than friends.

Heartbreak Limerick

Every time a person's heart breaks
They're losing thousands of flakes
That all fit together
Then they're gone forever
And once they are lost, it aches.

Sisters At Heart

We’re connected in a way
That no one else can see
Best friends 'till the very end--
That is you and me.

You're kind and understanding
Our friendship wise and true
I could never in my life replace
The beauty which is you.

We'd still spend our whole lives together
If we'd had our way
I still think about that
Each and every day

Our time together may have been short
Life soon pulled us apart
But we'll always have each other
For we are sisters at heart.

I hope you know I love you
You're one of my best friends
I'll always stand by you
Until the very end

Because I love you so darn much
I'd like to wish for this:
A very happy birthday
To the friend I dearly miss

I Miss You...

To put it simply, I can’t forget you.
Your infectious laugh and the things you’d do.
The gentle way you smiled at me,
Like I was the only girl you’d ever see.
You were my first and truest love,
You lifted me to high above
The world we saw and that I hated,
To say I loved you is understated.
You were my best friend, you understood,
You held me close when no one else would.
When we kissed your lips were sweet,
My world finally felt complete.
But not for long, our love was lost,
My heart’s warmth soon became frost.
So before I sleep I say amen
And pray I’ll find true love again.

This Isn't About You... After All, You Did Nothing, Right?

Cold and alone,
I lie in this place,
Try as I might,
I can't forget your face.

You simply don't care,
About bringing me strife,
You wouldn't bat an eye,
If I ended my life.

You continue to torture,
With the twisted words you speak,
Hard as I try,
My defences are weak.

It used to be different,
I used to feel good,
But that's in the past and I'm
Misunderstood.

There's no eye for an eye,
No tooth for a tooth,
Just the way you made me feel;
The plain and obvious truth.

I beg you to stop,
But you never think twice,
And it's for this reason,
My emotions pay the price.

Nowhere to run,
Nowhere to hide,
I'm scarred by the truth,
That you instantly denied.

I want it to stop,
I'm sick of your lies,
There's no end to this nightmare,
So tears fall from my eyes.

Don't keep it a secret
If you feel this way.
Tell someone you trust
And it will be ok.

Your troubles will end
You'll shed your unhappiness
If you put it out in the open

That's my promise.

Shakespeare Style...

Two girls, both alike in music tastes,
In fair Queensland, where we lay our scene,
From ancient oblivion break to new familiarity,
Where close friendship makes new friendships blossom.
From forth the clever minds of these two allies
A future band takes its form;
Whose excited, hopeful events,
Doth with its beginning bring a new sense of togetherness.
The interesting passage with an unknown end
And the continuance of their lyric writing,
Which, but their giving up, nought could remove,
Is now the many years (hopefully!) traffic of our lives;
The which if you with patient minds will attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

A Prologue Of Sorts

Seeking a fresh start she started again
With a new way of speaking, in verse
The original intended to entertain,
The second is probably worse.

She writes of pain and suffering
More than happiness and joy
And often of the way she feels
About a certain boy.

She writes of life the way it is
In all her honesty
She writes not to entertain
But to describe the world she sees.

I hope, dear reader, you understand,
This blog is but a tool,
To guide through life the way it seems
In a world that is so cruel.
